Humanoid Monster Bem (妖怪人間ベム, Yōkai Ningen Bemu) was originally a Japanese anime series that aired on Fuji TV from October 7, 1968 to March 31, 1969. A remake version premiered on April 1, 2006 on Animax Japan, which later aired across its other international networks.
A live-action drama adaptation premiered on NTV on October 22, 201, and a film was released on December 15, 2012.
For the series' 50th anniversary, a new anime adaptation titled BEM was announced. The new version premiered on July 14, 2019 and ran for 12 episodes to October 14, 2019.
Plot[]
Bem, Bela, and Belo are ugly humanoid youkai who fight evil youkai for justice while living among humanity. While they are ostracized from both humans and other youkai, the three continue to fight in hopes of one-day becoming humans themselves.
