Voltage Fighter Gowcaizer (超人学園ゴウカイザー, Chōjin Gakuen Gōkaizā, lit. "Superhuman Academy Gowcaizer") is a 1995 superhero-themed head-to-head fighting game produced by Technos Japan Corp. for the Neo Geo arcade and home console. It was the company's third attempt at a fighting game after the success of Capcom's 1991 arcade-hit Street Fighter II, following the 1992 Family Computer title Nekketsu Kakutō Densetsu, and the Neo Geo fighting game version of Double Dragon. It features character designs by artist Masami Ōbari, who previously worked on the anime adaptations of the Fatal Fury series. Ports of the game were released for the Neo-Geo CD and PlayStation (Japan only).

A three-episode Original Video Animation series based on the game was directed by the game's character designer Masami Ōbari titled Voltage Fighters: Gowcaizer the Movie. An English adaptation was produced by U.S. Manga Corps. Four drama CDs, an image song collection, and a manga were also released. Similarly, Karin Son is re-used in Angel Blade as one of the minor antagonists.

Plot[]

It is the dawn of the 21st century. The cataclysmic earthquake which reduced half of Tokyo to a broken landscape of twisted steel and shattered stone was only the first sign of the impending apocalypse.

Athletic and popular, Isato Kaiza was an otherwise ordinary student. But nothing could've prepared him for the day he was given a Caizer Stone by fellow student Kash , alias Hellstinger. Armed with the mysterious crystal, Isato now possesses the power to transform into the armored hero: Gowcaizer!

To save the Earth, Gowcaizer and Hellstinger must join forces against Omni Exist, the manifestation of all negative human desires, and the force behind the recent disasters, before the entity obliterates the human race!
