Tamako Market (たまこまーけっと, Tamako Māketto?) is an original Japanese anime television series produced by Kyoto Animation and directed by Naoko Yamada. It started airing in Japan in January 2013. A film sequel was released in Japan on April 26, 2014, titled Tamako Love Story.

Kitashirakawa Tamako is a high school girl that loves mochi and the local shōtengai. When browsing the flower shop, she meets a talking bird named Dela Mochimazzi that goes home with her.

Tamako Market began airing on Tokyo MX on January 10, 2013. Sentai Filmworks licensed the anime for release in North America.[1]

Animation production is handled primarily by Kyoto Animation. Much of the staff that worked on K-On! is also working on Tamako Market.[2] The shōtengai depicted in the series is the actual real life Usagiyama Shopping District. Usagiyama is credited as being involved in the production of this series.
