Soul Hunter (封神演義, Hōshin Engi) is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by FUJISAKI Ryu. The manga series was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from 1996–2000 and compiled in 23 tankōbon volumes by Shueisha, and licensed by Viz Media. The manga gained a reprinted kanzenban version with new cover art, illustrations and afterwords, and its 18 Kanzenban volumes were released periodically between July 2005 and June 2006.

An anime adaptation entitled Senkai-den Hōshin Engi (仙界伝 封神演義), broadcast on Japanese TV in 1999 and released in North America on DVD as Soul Hunter in 2001 for 26 episodes. In January 2009, Shomei TV announced their intentions to remake the anime series if they received 10,000 signatures. In success, a new season entitled Hakyū Hōshin Engi (覇穹 封神演義) premiered on January 12, 2018 for 23 episodes with a new cast, and licensed by Funimation.

Once, there were two worlds that existed on this earth. In the sky where the deities lived was the Senninkai. On the ground where, of course, the people lived was Ningenkai. In the novel adaptation by Ryu Fujisaki, Houshin Engi follows Taikoubou on his mission to rid the Ningenkai of the evil immortals that have resided there.
