PriPara (Prism Paradise) is the sister show to the popular Pretty Rhythm series. The series first aired on July 5th, 2014. The new anime is set in the PriPara world, filled with girls' dreams for fashion, dance, and music. Every day, there are auditions that send top idols to worldwide fame on television and online.
Plot
Season 1
Laala Manaka is an elementary school girl who hopes to become an idol, following after her favorite idol group, Saints. However, Laala's school prohibits Pri-Para for elementary school children. An unexpected chance leads Laala to make her first entrance into the world of PriPara, where she will make her debut. In PriPara, Laala meets her new friends, Mirei and Sophie and they work together as SoLaMi♡SMILE in order to become Divine Idols. Laala and her friends meet many challenges on the way, like the rival team Dressing Pafé and legendary Vocal Doll, Faruru. They all compete against each other in order to win the Paradise Coord, a legendary outfit that was previously won by Saints.
Season 2
After the units SoLaMi♡SMILE and Dressing Pafé are disbanded, Laala and her friends are introduced to the Dream Theater, where it is said that idols must find their Dream Teams in order to perform in the legendary Dream Parade Float. In their Dream Teams, Idol Units must win Seasonal Grand Prix in order to win legendary coords that will allow them to ride the Dream Parade Float, but be able to compete to become a Pripara Princesses. New Rivals like Aromageddon, and Fuwari, but also Old Rivals like Dressing Pafé, and Faruru will be the key in creating the ultimate Dream Team. A Masked man known as the Thieving Genius will do everything in his power to make sure that only true talent will be able to stay as Idols.
