Rumbling Hearts (君が望む永遠, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien) is a Japanese adult visual novel developed by Âge and released on August 3, 2001 for Windows, and later ported to the Dreamcast and PlayStation 2. An anime adaptation by Studio Fantasia from the game aired between October 5, 2003 to January 4, 2004 and ran for 14 episodes. Funimation later licensed and distributed the anime in North America under the title Rumbling Hearts. The series was also licensed for release by Revelation Films in the United Kingdom and Madman Entertainment in Australia and New Zealand, under the title Rumbling Hearts: Kiminozo. A 7 episode shorts ONA by Picture Magic called Rumbling Hearts: Ayu Mayu Theater (あゆまゆ劇場, Ayu Mayu Gekijō) was released from Sep 29, 2006 to Feb 23, 2007. A four-episode OVA series by Brain's Base called Rumbling Hearts: Next Season (君が望む永遠~Next Season~, Kimi ga Nozomu Eien: Next Season) was released between December 21, 2007 to December 19, 2008.

Plot[]

Takayuki Narumi, a male high school student is set up with Haruka Suzumiya by their friends Mitsuki Hayase and Shinji Taira. One day, after Haruka confesses to Takayuki, they enter a relationship which becomes not very consummated due to performance anxiety. Nevertheless, Takayuki agrees to go out with Haruka where the two begin to realize their feelings for each other. But when tragedy strikes, things are never the same for the four friends again.
