Games usually refers to some form of video game (including console games, mobile games, and PC games), but can also refer to other types (board games, card games, etc.). Anime and manga are commonly adapted from video games and vice versa. Also, many video games use the anime/manga art style or are inspired by it. Games have also been adapted into anime and manga.

The most anime/manga adjacent games start with visual novels which are more like fancy slide shows than games, per se, but can have very deep storylines, for example STEINS;GATE. Among the most popular visual novel type games are harem games (which generally mean targeted at heterosexual boys and men) and otome games. Otome games are designed to appeal to heterosexual girls and women, but are basically reverse harem dating games and often game-ified versions of otomechikku manga. Of course there are some share of BL games too. On the flip side of BL there are also the occasional yuri game. There are also the many gacha games which aren't necessarily like anime or manga, but often share their aesthetic.
