Seraph of the End (終わりのセラフ, Owari no Seraph) is a Japanese manga written by Takaya Kagami, illustrated by Yamato Yamamoto and storyboard by Daisuke Furuya. The manga has been serialized in Jump Square magazine by Shueisha since September 2012, with individual chapters collected into nineteen tankōbon volumes as of September 4, 2019. On October 7, 2013, Weekly Shonen Jump added the series to its digital magazine lineup.[1]

An anime adaptation by WIT STUDIO was announced on August 28, 2014. FUNimation then licensed it in English and began playing the subtitled episodes the same day they were released in Japan. A few weeks after the episodes began airing, episodes dubbed in English were released as well. The first cour of the anime aired in Japan from April 4, 2015 to June 20, 2015. The second cour of the anime aired from October 10, 2015 to December 26, 2015.

Plot[]

Set in the near future, after a virus devastates the world, the remainder of humanity are enslaved as livestock by vampires. Yūichirō Hyakuya and Mika Hyakuya plan to escape the underground city they are kept in along with their orphanage siblings.

Four years later, Yu aims to join a specialized military squad in revenge for what the vampires have done, making use of cursed gear to help with this. Mika aims to rescue Yu from the humans around him, even as more challenges threaten them both ranging from vastly more powerful vampires, demons, and the seraph of the end.
