Carl Macek



Carl Macek (1951-2010) was a pioneering figure in the rise in popularity of japanese animation in the United States throughout the 1980's and the 1990's. He was the creator and producer of Robotech, which has built a strong fanbase since it's debut in 1985, and in 1988, he co-founded Streamline Pictures with Jerry Beck. Macek has directed the english versions of animes such as Vampire Hunter D, Fist of the North Star, The Professional:Golgo 13, The Dirty Pair: Affair on Nolandia, The Dirty Pair: Project Eden, The Dirty Pair: Flight 005 Conspiracy, and various others. He has also done work for ADV Films, such as the critically praised Lady Death. Macek passed away from a heart attack on April 17th, 2010.
