The Ōkami-san (オオカミさん) series is a collection of Japanese light novels by Masashi Okita, with illustrations by Unaji. The series started with the release of the first volume on August 10, 2006 entitled Ookami-san and Seven Companions (オオカミさんと七人の仲間たち, Ōkami-san to Shichinin no Nakamatachi), and as of January 10, 2010, ten volumes have been published by ASCII Media Works under their Dengeki Bunko imprint. A manga adaptation by Kurumi Suzushiro started serialization in the shōnen manga magazine Dengeki Daioh on February 27, 2010. A TV anime adaptation started airing on July 1, 2010 and is an ongoing anime series for Fall of 2010.

Story

The series is a romantic comedy with various references to fairy tales such as "Little Red Riding Hood," "The Ant and the Grasshopper," etc. with most of the story set in a city called Otogibana City (Otogibana-shi).

Ookami Ryouko (aka Ookami-san) is a spunky high school girl with a masculine attitude. She is a member of a "fixer" club more popularly known as the "Otogi Bank". The club solves various problems around the city with her partner Akai Ringo (Akazukin-chan) and four other members.

Later on, a new member emerges: he is Morino Ryoushi, a boy whose case of scopophobia (or fear of being stared at) gave him an image of a cowardly person. However, his confession to Ryouko changes things around, and with him joining the Otogi Bank, the adventures of Ryouko and her seven companions begin.
